We receive no funding to assist us with the purchase of equipment and running costs for the team. We rely soley on donations and support from the public and organisations both on and off the Island. Please contact us if you think you could help the team with fundraising, the email address is j.macgregor@snhs.sch.im or see the 'Contact us' page.

Moore Stephens has kindly agreed to pay for the necessary ferry crossings per dog for their qualification training in Wales for the next three years. Since SARDA is entirely run on voluntary donations, this is an excellent source of income for the charity and of course, all donations are gratefully received.
David Shadwell, partner for Moore Stephens Isle of Man commented We are only too happy to help the local community in this way and we wanted to support the excellent work SARDA Isle of Man does, the team have been involved in numerous search missions on the Island over the years.

For the second year running Peel Charity shop has donated £1000 to SARDA IOM. This donation allows the Search Dogs to continue their high cost of training and will allow the handlers to replace some worn out clothing.
Pictured are Dawn Webb on the left (chairman sarda iom), Peel charity shop committee and handler jim Macgregor with Search Dog Star.
Since SARDA IOM was in the very earliest stages of forming, the small charity has received huge support from Isle of Civil Defence.
Civil Defence is part of the Islands Department of Home Affairs and is run by a group of dedicated volunteers that are on call 24 hours to day to deal with various incidents on the Island. From chemical or biological threat, floods, looking for missing persons, hill search and rescue as well as providing support to other services such as Police or Fire and Rescue Service at scenes of major incidents.
Martin Blackburn, the Isle of Man Emergency Planning Officer who leads the team of Civil Defence volunteers, has been exceptionally generous in many respects from equipment, a Landrover, to knowledge, help and support to make SARDA IOM the highly effective and functional service it now is.
All of the Civil Defence volunteers have been fantastic in supporting SARDA IOM in both time and help to boost fundraising. Civil Defences latest fundraising event is the 3 Peaks Challenge in May and some of the money will go to SARDA IOM as well as many other beneficial causes. For more information, see the latest news section.
Thanks to everyone at Civil Defence once again, especially Martin Blackburn.
PricewaterhouseCoopers donates two new bivvy bags to SARDA.
PricewaterhouseCoopers have donated two new waterproof bivvy bags to SARDA IOM to help keep the 'bodies' dry through the Manx winter. The bags allow the bodies to lie up in often poor weather conditions for the dogs to find, as call outs are much more likely in bad weather and this makes the training far more realistic.
A huge thank you to Pricewaterhouse Coopers and there donation is very much appriecated.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company are a vital donor to SARDA Isle of Man. The benifits of travelling to the likes of Wales to train with other Search Dogs groups is hugely important as on the Island we can be very isolating in terms of training.
The Steam Packet company have provided us with 5 free return boat trips off the Island and a large discount rate after that per year.
One of our largest out goings in the past has been on travel and the Steam Packets very kind offer is truely fantasic to relocate funds to vital for kit and equipment.
These boat trips mean that we can attend invaluable training excerises with other SARDA teams and will make a huge difference to SARDA Isle of Man. A very warm thanks indeed.
Bank of Scotland International gave us a very generous donation of £250 and the promise of a dress down day within the Isle of Man branch to help boost our funds as well.
Thank you very much to everyone involved.

In 2004 the IOM Coastguard generously provided the Team with protective clothing and 2 survival/dry suits for our bodies to wear when we train for low tide and cliff searches. They have also assisted us with the loan of some VHF communications equipment for our bodies.
